Rev. Elizabeth Cotten

Rev. Beth was raised in North Carolina. After relocating to Morristown, NJ, she received the right hand of fellowship at Bethel in 1989. Prior to answering her call to ministry in 2011, Rev. Beth served in several leadership positions at Bethel. After completing the required courses at the New Jersey Ministerial Institute (NJMI), she was ordained a Local Elder in April 2016, making her the first female Elder in Bethel Morristown’s history.

Rev. Beth is primarily responsible for providing pastoral care for the sick and shut-in of the church, through regular visitation and serving Communion. Her other duties include officiating at funerals and weddings (when requested), assisting the Senior Pastor in preaching, teaching, and leading in worship and coordinate community outreach efforts with community-based organization and local churches.

Rev. Beth Retired from Verizon Communications in 2013 after 32 ½ years of distinguished service and subsequently received a certificate in Early Childhood Development from the County College of Morris (CCM) in August 2016. She is currently employed by Unity Charter School Aftercare program working with Pre-K through Third grade students.

She is the mother of one daughter, Tawanna and grandmother of Jaylond and Adrianna Lucia. Her passion is praising God in spirit and truth.
